A Total Backwater Adventure

Capt. Andrew Medina

No Fish Policy

No Fish Policy

The general idea of this policy is to insure you have the best chance to at least set the hook on a Backwater game fish. And have a memorable expeirence with Capt. Medina. I have enough confidence that I will put you in an area that has produced fish in the past ,and continues to do so. All though there are exceptions. Many of our backwater species have seasons and size limits, of course this is beyond my control. Tides are sometimes unfavorable for fish to feed, also weather plays a major role. If the Capt. notifies the anglers on one of these days and the clients still wish to take the charter then I can not apply this policy. This policy is only for 6 hour and 8 hour trips. Though Snook, Reds and Jacks are some of our more targeted fish, 4 hour trips may not be enough time, but I will try to put you on the fish as quick as possible in a 4 hour trip. That I promise my clients.

Fly Trips or Artificial Charters

As true fly anglers already know, although you or the Captain might be able to see the fish and you may make the perfect cast to the fish, but the fish just decided not to eat the fly. It happens. On Snook, Tarpon and Bones I know the rush from a fish eaten a fly, but many days I have thrown at many fish and it just didn’t happen. I will help you as much as I can with stripping , to fly patterns ,but for this reason my policy does not apply. Artificial trips are the same you can sometimes throw and throw but the fish have something totally different in mind. I’m an artificial angler by choice and it is by far my specialty. Once again I will try my hardest but there are no guarantees that the dream Snook will inhale that Plug or Jerk bait.

Fish that apply:

Snook

Trout

Reds

Jacks

Mangrove Snapper

Lady Fish

As everyone knows a good guide should be able to put you on one of these species of Backwater game fish.

Tarpon:

Tarpon are extremely one of the hardest fighting sport fish in the water and also one of the most temperamental. I’ve fished for them most of my life learning fly patterns on Juveniles and Bait fishing larger fish , the only thing I can guarantee on a Tarpon trip is if we hook up you will be hooked for life. My policy does not apply to Tarpon trips for the reason. You may see fish rolling all around you but your bait hasn’t went in front of the right fish.
